I found out about the Best Buddies program back when I was a freshman in high school.

There is a Best Buddies Club in my High-school. I joined the club and had a great time. I partied at the Best Buddies Homecoming gala and at their Friendship Walk in D.C 2019.

I was also paired up with my first ever bubby. Her name is Sydney. She was a senior in Highschool. She graduated and went to college studying to be a Speech therapist.

I was very involved with the students in the special needs classroom. The classrooms were secluded in a hallway near another entrance of my high-school.
During my senior year, I was still in Best Buddies and was about to move in to Best Buddies living. (Living Program for people with IDD) I decided to drop out of choir and did peer helping for the students in Special Ed. I learned about each students' support needs and went on their Community Based Learning Trips. I enjoyed going to McDonalds with them for their flurries. I also taught the students and helped the nonverbals with doing their assigned learning tasks.

My Involvement
Once I graduated, I was told next year. I would be able to put on my first ever show to raise money for Best Buddies.

I've also was nominated to be Champion of the year and performed at the gala. I also was abled to perform to promote my show. My performance was aired on ABC7 and NBC4 (Videos on the Featured Section).
We raised about $1,000 towards Best Buddies and they paid me for my efforts.
